This Week's Topic
For Thursday: Post a story related to the US economy, budgets and conflicts with labor unions in states like Wisconsin, Ohio, NJ, and even PA. These stories should be easy to find on any news website. Good job on your first posts for those who did them. Everyone else needs to do this week's and last week's to make up for it!

Middle Eastern Revolutions
http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/meast/03/02/tunisia.rappers.balti/index.html
Balti raps with depth. Rapping before the revoluion was very hard, and he would get arrested is he said the wrong things. His music helped influence the revolution. He had a song about the leader personally. He would talk about all the corruption in the country. The leader fled the country. Now it's easier to rap there.

Let Them Fight Their Own Battle

In a nutshell this articale tells about how America shouldn't and can't afford to get involved in the currect rebellion occurring in lybia. It speaks the truth in a basic. American shouldn't get involved until we get our act together first. (In direct to Iraq and all that). I can't say I agree or disagree, but I enjoyed reading the article.

Middle Eastern Problems

This is showing the chinese people in a riot against their government. It's called the Jasmine Revolution. The people demand for others to be released from captivity in going against the government. And the police react violently when this happened. It's strange when one of the officers replied to the question, why such a forceful retaliation, he says "fear". They all agreed that it was best to use violence to keep the society under control.

Reverse DBQ
vThesis: FDR was one of the most transformative presidents in American History, but while many believe his programs were helpful, he also faced many critics during his presidency.
vSTEP 1: What kinds of documents should you look for? (Pro FDR programs and Anti-FDR docs!)
vLook for quotes, political cartoons, speeches, photos, graphs, maps, etc.
vPro side: All the New Deal programs, campaign slogans and materials, FDR speeches
vCon Side: Quotes by Father Charles Coughlin, Dr. Francis Townsend, and Huey Long. Political Cartoons about FDR’s “court-packing”
vSTEP 2: Email me the Docs (Labeled A – F/G) with a very short description of what each document is and which subtopic it would fit in.
v*Also, make sure you have a graphic organizer of the Second New Deal as well as the first to attach to your homework. Homework is Due Tomorrow!
